Role Overview
We are hiring a Project Manager to drive execution across our editorial and product initiatives. You will manage the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects that span content launches, platform features, growth experiments, and cross-functional initiatives. This role requires someone who can operate fluidly between editorial deadlines and product sprints, keeping diverse teams aligned and shipping on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end project delivery for editorial launches, product features, and cross-functional initiatives from scoping through release.
- Facilitate sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives for engineering and product teams using agile methodologies.
- Build and maintain project timelines, milestones, and dependency maps across simultaneous workstreams.
- Serve as the central point of communication between editorial, product, engineering, design, and growth teams.
- Identify project risks early, develop mitigation plans, and escalate blockers to leadership when necessary.
- Create and maintain project documentation including briefs, status reports, decision logs, and post-mortems.
- Manage resource allocation across projects, ensuring teams are neither overloaded nor underutilized.
- Coordinate with external vendors, freelancers, and partners on deliverables and timelines.
- Drive accountability by tracking action items, deadlines, and deliverables across all stakeholders.
- Establish and refine project management processes and templates that scale with the organization.
- Report project status and key metrics to leadership on a weekly basis.
Requirements
- 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in media, publishing, or technology companies.
- Proficiency with project management tools (Asana, Linear, Jira, Notion, or equivalent).
- Experience with agile and waterfall methodologies and the judgment to apply each appropriately.
- Strong stakeholder management skills — able to align teams with competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to distill complex projects into clear status updates.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without dropping details.
- Comfort with fast-paced environments where requirements evolve and priorities shift.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-Have
- PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience managing editorial or content production workflows.
- Background in digital media, newsletters, or subscription-based businesses.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles and technical project requirements.
- Experience working with distributed, remote-first teams across multiple time zones.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary with equity options in a Series A startup.
- Fully remote work with flexible hours.
- Health, dental, and vision benefits.
- Generous PTO and company-wide recharge days.
- Annual learning and development budget.
- High-impact role with visibility across the entire organization.
- Opportunity to shape how a growing media startup plans and executes.
