About The Meridiem
The Meridiem is a fast-growing technology media platform on a mission to deliver timely, high-quality technology journalism. We cover the stories that matter across AI, startups, venture capital, cybersecurity, and enterprise tech — delivering morning briefings and evening analysis to a growing audience of technology professionals and decision-makers.
Role Overview
As a Product Analyst, you will be the analytical engine behind The Meridiem's product decisions. You will analyze reader behavior, content performance, and engagement patterns to help the product and editorial teams understand what is working, what is not, and where the biggest opportunities lie. From funnel analysis and A/B test design to content performance dashboards and subscriber segmentation, your work will directly shape the platform's growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain analytics dashboards tracking key platform metrics — reader engagement, content performance, conversion funnels, and retention cohorts
- Analyze user behavior across the reader journey, from first visit through newsletter signup, registration, and habitual readership
- Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests to optimize critical flows including homepage layout, article engagement, signup conversion, and newsletter CTAs
- Measure content performance across the six content verticals (AI, startups, VC, cybersecurity, enterprise, developer tools), identifying trends and opportunities
- Conduct funnel analysis to identify drop-off points in registration, authentication, and subscription flows
- Build subscriber segmentation models to support personalized content delivery and targeted newsletter campaigns
- Partner with product managers to define success metrics for new features and measure post-launch impact
- Create weekly and monthly performance reports for leadership, highlighting key trends and actionable recommendations
- Analyze newsletter engagement data (open rates, click-through rates, subscriber growth) in coordination with the editorial team
- Develop and maintain a metrics taxonomy and event tracking strategy to ensure comprehensive and consistent data collection
- Identify opportunities for reader growth through analysis of traffic sources, referral patterns, and content virality

- 2+ years of experience in product analytics, data analytics, or a related analytical role
- Strong SQL skills and experience querying large datasets

- Experience building dashboards and visualizations (Looker, Tableau, Metabase, or similar)
- Hands-on experience designing and analyzing A/B tests with statistical rigor
- Strong understanding of funnel analysis, cohort analysis, and retention metrics
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language for data analysis (Python or R preferred)
- Ability to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable narratives for non-technical stakeholders
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity
- Self-starter mentality comfortable working independently in a fast-paced startup environment
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in media analytics, publishing metrics, or content performance analysis
- Familiarity with email/newsletter analytics (Beehiiv, Mailchimp, or similar platforms)
