Role Overview
We are looking for a Growth Marketing Manager to own and scale our audience acquisition engine. You will drive newsletter subscriber growth, optimize conversion funnels across the site, manage paid campaigns, and build referral programs that turn readers into advocates. This is a high-impact, data-driven role at the intersection of product, content, and performance marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full-funnel growth strategy for The Meridiem, from awareness through activation and retention.
- Drive newsletter subscriber growth through paid acquisition, organic channels, referral programs, and strategic partnerships.
- Plan, execute, and optimize paid campaigns across platforms including Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X.
- Design and manage referral and ambassador programs to leverage existing readership for organic growth.
- Optimize on-site conversion rates for newsletter sign-ups, article engagement, and account creation through A/B testing and experimentation.
- Analyze acquisition channels and cohort performance to allocate budget efficiently and maximize LTV/CAC ratios.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to identify high-performing content and amplify distribution.
- Build and maintain dashboards tracking growth KPIs including subscriber count, open rates, click-through rates, and churn.
- Develop landing pages and lead magnets tailored to key audience segments (founders, engineers, investors, executives).
- Work closely with the product and engineering teams to implement growth features and tracking infrastructure.
- Identify and test emerging growth channels and tactics relevant to media and newsletter businesses.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, or demand generation.
- Proven track record of scaling a newsletter, media product, or consumer subscription to 50K+ users.
- Deep expertise in paid acquisition across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and/or Twitter/X.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar analytics platforms.
- Experience with A/B testing frameworks and conversion rate optimization methodologies.
- Familiarity with newsletter platforms (Beehiiv, Substack, ConvertKit, or similar).
- Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with limited resources and high expectations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience growing a media or publishing brand specifically.
- Familiarity with Beehiiv's growth tools, referral programs, and recommendation network.
- Background in the tech industry or genuine interest in AI, startups, and venture capital.
- Experience with programmatic advertising and direct ad sales.
- SQL proficiency or experience with data warehousing tools.
