Role Overview
We are hiring a Business Operations Analyst to bring analytical rigor to how we run and grow The Meridiem. You will track the KPIs that matter, identify process inefficiencies, build dashboards that drive decisions, and provide the data foundation leadership needs to steer the company. This is a versatile role that touches every part of the business — editorial performance, subscriber growth, revenue, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, track, and report on key performance indicators across editorial, growth, revenue, and operations functions.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting infrastructure using tools like Google Sheets, Looker, Metabase, or similar.
- Conduct analysis on subscriber behavior, content engagement, churn patterns, and revenue trends to surface actionable insights.
- Identify process bottlenecks and inefficiencies across the organization and recommend data-backed improvements.
- Support leadership with ad hoc analysis for strategic decisions including pricing, content strategy, market expansion, and resource allocation.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews with clear visualizations and narrative insights.
- Model scenarios for new initiatives, product launches, and business experiments to estimate impact and resource requirements.
- Collaborate with the finance team on revenue forecasting, unit economics, and budget tracking.
- Audit and improve data quality across systems, ensuring consistent definitions and reliable reporting.
- Document analytical methodologies, data sources, and reporting processes for organizational knowledge.
- Support investor reporting and board materials with accurate operational and financial data.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in business analysis, operations analysis, strategy, or a related analytical role.
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) including modeling, pivot tables, and data visualization.
- Experience building dashboards and reports using BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Metabase, or Power BI).
- Strong SQL skills or willingness to learn quickly for querying databases and data warehouses.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Self-directed work style — able to identify what needs measuring and build the reporting without being asked.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in media, publishing, or subscription-based businesses.
- Familiarity with subscription metrics (MRR, churn rate, LTV, CAC).
- Background in management consulting, investment banking, or startup operations.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
- Knowledge of A/B testing frameworks and experimental design.
- Familiarity with product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Analytics).
What We Offer
- Competitive salary with equity options in a Series A startup.
- Fully remote work with flexible hours.
- Health, dental, and vision benefits.
- Generous PTO and company-wide recharge days.
- Annual learning and development budget.
- High visibility across the entire organization — your analysis directly informs company strategy.
- Growth trajectory into senior analytics, strategy, or operations leadership roles.
