Business Development & Sales Executive
About the role
About RectIntel
RectIntel Limited is a technology company operating at the intersection of software, AI, and digital transformation. We build products that solve real operational problems for organizations across Africa and around the world. Our flagship product is Attenda — an all-in-one event management and attendance tracking platform serving churches, schools, corporate organizations, manufacturers, and community groups.
About Attenda
Attenda is a full-suite platform that replaces the 6+ disconnected tools organizations currently juggle for event planning, ticketing, guest management, check-in, seating, and recurring attendance tracking. The platform features industry-aware presets for Religious, Academic, Corporate, Manufacturing, and Community organizations, Paystack-powered payments, multi-channel communications (Email, SMS, WhatsApp), QR check-in, seating chart builder, automation engine, and 11 integrations.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Business Development & Sales Executive to drive Attenda's go-to-market strategy and revenue growth across Nigeria and the broader African market. You will identify, engage, and convert organizations — from churches and schools to corporate HR departments and event management companies — into paying Attenda users. This is a foundational commercial hire: you will shape how we sell, who we sell to, and build the playbook that scales our revenue engine. You need to understand GTM strategy, B2B/B2C sales cycles, and the operational realities of selling SaaS to African organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Go-to-Market & Strategy
Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Attenda across key verticals: Religious organizations, Academic institutions, Corporate/HR, Event planners, and Community/NGO groups.
Identify and prioritize high-value market segments based on pain points, willingness to pay, and adoption potential.
Define and refine ideal customer profiles (ICPs) and buyer personas for each vertical.
Build competitive positioning against existing tools, including manual spreadsheet workflows.
Sales Execution
Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and outreach through product demos, proposal, negotiation, and close.
Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities using CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).
Conduct product demonstrations tailored to the prospect's industry.
Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and pricing packages.
Hit and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
Business Development & Partnerships
Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with event venues, HR consultancies, churches, schools, and industry associations that can serve as distribution channels.
Explore and develop co-marketing and referral partnership opportunities.
Represent RectIntel at industry events, conferences, meetups, and networking opportunities across Nigeria.
Build relationships with decision-makers at target organizations.
Operations & Insights
Provide structured feedback from the market to the product team — what features close deals, what objections arise, what clients are asking for.
Track and report on sales metrics, pipeline health, conversion rates, and revenue forecasts.
Document and refine the sales playbook, objection-handling frameworks, and demo scripts for future team members.
Contribute to pricing strategy based on market feedback and competitive intelligence.
Requirements
2-4 years of experience in B2B/B2C sales, business development, or growth roles — preferably in SaaS, tech, or digital products.
Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a Nigerian or African market context.
Strong understanding of go-to-market strategy, sales funnels, and customer acquisition processes.
Experience conducting product demos and consultative selling to non-technical buyers (Administrators, HR managers, School heads, Pastors).
Excellent communication and presentation skills — both written and verbal.
Proficiency with CRM and sales tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or similar).
Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently in an early-stage, fast-moving environment.
Based in Nigeria with a willingness to travel within the country for client meetings and events.
Genuine interest in how technology can solve real operational problems for African organizations.
Nice-to-Have
Experience selling to educational institutions, religious organizations, or event management companies in Nigeria.
Background in SaaS or subscription-based product sales with familiarity with metrics like MRR, churn, LTV, and CAC.
Existing network of contacts in the Nigerian event management, church administration, or corporate HR space.
Experience with digital marketing, content marketing, or social selling as pipeline-building channels.
Familiarity with Paystack, Flutterwave, or African payment infrastructure.
Understanding of the Nigerian SME and enterprise tech adoption landscape.
Experience at an early-stage startup where you helped build the sales function from scratch.
What We Offer
Competitive base salary (NGN) with uncapped performance-based commission.
Equity consideration — this is a foundational hire with real ownership potential.
Remote-first work with flexible hours and autonomy.
Direct access to the founding team and influence over commercial strategy, pricing, and product direction.
Opportunity to build and lead the sales function at a company with strong product-market fit signals.
Annual learning and development budget.
The chance to shape how African organizations adopt modern event and attendance management technology.
